The Mukwonago Food Pantry was founded by Dorothy Stanke, Debra Hoppe and Cynthia Eggleston who saw a need in our community and found a way to address it. The doors opened for the first time on August 1, 1989 in the basement of Clara Martin’s house on South Rochester Street. We soon outgrew the Martin’s home and moved temporarily to Washington Avenue School. From there we moved to 110 Main, on the village square, where again, ever-growing community support forced us to find a larger “home”. This time the former library building at 219 Grand Avenue would be our last stop before moving into our own building.
